Executive Coach and Nonverbal Communication Expert Independent Coaching Practice
Session Description: In today’s remote coaching environment, trust is built — or lost — through a screen. Research on nonverbal communication (including Mehrabian’s communication model, mirror neuron research, amygdala-based emotional processing, and rapport theory) demonstrates that much of human connection occurs beyond words. In digital environments, these signals do not disappear — they become compressed, delayed, or distorted.
When body language is limited to a small digital frame, subtle non-verbal signals become harder to detect and easier to misinterpret. At the same time, Competency 4 (Cultivates Trust and Safety) and Competency 6 (Listens Actively) require coaches to notice emotions, energy shifts, tone, and behavioral patterns with precision.
This session explores how non-verbal communication operates in digital settings and how coaches can intentionally strengthen trust and deepen listening online.
Participants will learn: - How coaches’ own digital body language impacts psychological safety - Common non-verbal mistakes in remote sessions - How to detect emotional shifts and incongruence on screen - How to integrate words, tone, posture, facial expression, and energy in real time
Through short video case analyses of recorded coaching segments, participants will observe both effective and ineffective coach behaviors, as well as subtle client non-verbal cues that signal deeper meaning.
Each participant will receive a practical Digital Nonverbal Pocket Guide for immediate application.
