Session Description: Coaches are skilled at helping clients think through challenges, but what happens when thinking alone isn't enough? When clients are stuck in reactivity, overwhelmed by stress, or caught in entrenched patterns, cognitive strategies often fall short. This experiential workshop introduces a powerful missing piece: somatic awareness—the practice of anchoring attention in the body to access presence, clarity, and choice.
This workshop serves as an essential “Embodiment 101” and is created to answer the key questions: What is embodied wisdom, why does it matter, and how do you access it?
You'll learn foundational tools from the Embodied Wisdom framework to help clients shift from reactivity to response. Through guided practice and reflection, you'll explore:
· The Terrain of the Soma: How sensation, mood, thought, and presence shape our experience, and how to help clients read these signals · The Spin Cycle: Why clients get caught in loops of rumination, physical tension, and habitual reaction and how to recognize the pattern · The C.A.R.E. Compass: A four-step process to guide clients from reactivity to choice in moments of stress, decision-making, or overwhelm. · The Daily Essential: A simple, repeatable practice to access Core Essence: the steady, grounded awareness beneath the noise
You'll leave with practical, embodied tools you can immediately integrate into coaching conversations, whether working with leaders navigating high-pressure decisions, clients facing transition, or anyone seeking to move beyond stuck patterns.
This session is designed for coaches who want to:
· Deepen their own embodied presence in service of their clients · Offer clients somatic practices that complement cognitive and emotional work · Support clients in building resilience, clarity, and agency in chaotic times
No prior somatic training required. Come ready to practice, reflect, and expand your coaching toolkit with methods grounded in decades of coaching and teaching.
Learning Objectives::
Learn the Terrain of the Soma and how to help clients recognize these dimensions of embodied experience in real time.
