Session Description: Artificial intelligence is rapidly entering the coaching profession, yet most coach education programs are not adequately prepared to teach future coaches how to engage AI responsibly, ethically, and developmentally. As educators, we are not simply transmitting competencies. We are shaping professional identity in an increasingly AI augmented world.
In this 45 minute session, Dr. Saadat Bagherigaleh, MD, faculty at Wisdom of the Whole Coaching Academy, and Svetlana Dimovski, PhD, PCC, introduce an innovative framework for integrating AI into coach education while preserving the human foundations of presence, ethics, and relational awareness. Drawing from their combined experience in coach training, contemplative practice, ethical leadership, and neuroscience informed development, they demonstrate how structured AI supported reflection can accelerate competency embodiment rather than diminish it.
Participants will explore practical, developmentally sound applications of AI in coach training, including AI assisted reflective journaling to deepen Competency 2 Embodies a Coaching Mindset, AI supported session analysis to strengthen Competency 7 Evokes Awareness, simulation tools for structured skills practice and feedback, and guided ethical discernment exercises designed to safeguard Competency 5 Maintains Presence.
Dr. Dimovski previously developed a dedicated module on the ethical use of digital technology and AI in coaching aligned with National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching standards, International Coaching Federation ethical guidelines, and the ICF AI Framework. This session expands that work into a broader educational model that integrates technological literacy with professional identity formation.
Through interactive demonstrations and applied exercises, attendees will experience AI as a developmental mirror, surfacing blind spots, refining inquiry patterns, and strengthening ethical maturity. Rather than positioning AI as a threat, this session reframes it as a carefully guided educational amplifier grounded in ICF standards and contemplative pedagogy. Participants will leave with a practical integration model for curriculum design while preserving the relational integrity of coaching practice.
