What helps people feel safe enough to show up fully in a coaching relationship?
In this interactive session, members of ICF's Kaleidoscope Member Resource Group will share personal experiences and insights about authenticity, belonging, and trust in coaching. Through facilitated conversation, reflection activities, and small-group discussion, participants will explore how identity influences the coaching experience and what coaches can do to create spaces where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered. While centered on experiences from the Kaleidoscope community, the discussion will also incorporate perspectives and themes shared across other ICF Member Resource Groups, highlighting the universal importance of belonging in coaching relationships.
Participants will engage in meaningful dialogue about psychological safety, inclusive communication, and the role of authenticity in personal and professional growth. Together, attendees will identify practical approaches that strengthen trust, deepen connection, and support clients from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
This session invites coaches to move beyond assumptions and into curiosity, creating opportunities for deeper understanding and more effective coaching conversations
